1939 Register, Harold and Dorothy Fawcett
1851 census, Christopher Malthouse, aged 39 and his wife Ann, aged 40 ran the pub.
They had a nephew Henry aged 7 staying with them along with servants
Christopher Prest aged 17 and Elizabeth Umpleby aged 11.
1861 census, Ann Richmond aged 28, (her husband is absent), ran the pub,
a son aged 1 and a nurse, Annas Richmond aged 14
1871 census Edward Richmond aged 41 and his wife Ann aged 39.
Their children were William 11, John 6, Elizabeth 4 and Thomas 1.
1881 census Edward Richmond aged 51, widower, is with sons William 21, John 18 and
daughter Elizabeth 16. Son William is a vet, castrater and Elizabeth is the housekeeper
John is unemployed.
1891 census. William Richmond aged 31 and his wife Mary aged 27,
sons Edward aged 5, Frederick aged 5 and daughter aged 3.
Mary’s sister Elizabeth is a barmaid aged 25
1901 census William Walker aged 32, his wife Margaret aged 32,
daughters Emma aged 9, Gertrude aged 7,and Elizabeth aged 5.
1911 census Henry Lacy aged 56, his wife Alice aged 47,
daughter W???? Flegg aged 36, daughter Alice aged 19, grandson George aged 5
and granddaughters Isabella 3 and Olive May 7 months
1958 Nov. 3rd Licensee, William George Hall. Owners: Hepworth & Co. Ripon,
